A Letter from Pastor Joel 12/09/20

Hello Church Family,

The Leadership Team and Deacons of Fairview Missionary Church met (via Zoom) on Monday December 7th to discuss the possibility of providing a “Live In-Person” service on Sunday mornings.  With a vote of 12-1 the Leadership Team and Deacons approved the motion to begin having a “Live In-Person” service at 10:30 AM on January 3rd, 2021.  The 10:30 AM service will be offered for the foreseeable future barring a mandatory shutdown by the federal government or state officials that includes churches.  We will continue to offer a weekly online service for those who choose to stay home.

What Can I Expect if I Come to Service?

We are continuing to take every precaution possible to keep everyone safe who decides to worship in person. MASKS ARE MANDATORY (Age 3 & older per CDC guidelines) to enter the building.  Your mask should be worn over your nose and mouth at all times.  Face shields are not considered a mask.  Masks are worn to not only protect yourself, but to protect others in the event you are positive with COVID and don’t know it.  Whether masks actually work or not is often debated. However, wearing them is an attempt to provide a safer environment.  It is an act of sacrificial love for others’ sake to wear one even if you doubt its benefit. We also ask that you social distance 6 feet at all times, if possible.  We will continue to sanitize the sanctuary, foyer and restrooms often.  Hand sanitizer and masks are available in multiple locations.  If you are not feeling well, please stay home and join us online.

What if There is a National or State Mandate Prohibiting Churches to Gather for a Period of Time?

We will honor that request and suspend any in-person meetings until it is safe to worship together again.  We believe we are to honor those that God has put in authority.  We want to be people of integrity and respect. We also want to love others.

What if There is a Surge in Cases?

We will continue to monitor the numbers of cases of COVID-19 nationally and locally.  Unless there is a mandatory shutdown of our services, we will continue to offer this 10:30 AM “Live In-Person” service on Sunday mornings for those that are comfortable attending.

What About the Wednesday Evening Service and 9 AM Sunday Service?

At this time, we will only be offering the one time (10:30 AM) for a “Live In-Person” service.  If this service gets too large to maintain social distancing, we will add another service.

MASKS ARE MANDATORY (Age 3 & older) to enter the building.

If you are not feeling well, please stay home and join us online. Your children can join you in the sanctuary.

What if I am in the High-Risk Category (Over 70 and/or other health issues)?

We highly recommend, if you are in the high-risk category, that you stay home and join us online.  At the same time, if you decide that coming to worship in person is essential to you, then you are welcome to attend.  Please take all precautions possible to be safe though, because we love you!

What About Children’s Ministry?

We will not be offering any children’s ministry at this time for the reason of keeping everyone safe.  Please feel free to bring your kids with you in the sanctuary for service.  If your kids make noise during the service, we understand :).  It is okay.

Will Nursery and Toddler Rooms Be Open?

If we can find volunteers, the nursery and toddler rooms will be open during the 10:30 AM service on Sunday mornings.  If we cannot find volunteers who feel safe doing this, we will not be able to open these rooms during service.  Again, it is okay to bring them into the sanctuary with you.

What About the Teen Ministry?

The teens can meet together as long as the Angola School District is having “in-person” classes.  If Angola closes “in-person” classes, then the teen ministry will be closed as well.  When the teen ministry meets, they are required to follow all of the church guidelines concerning masks and social distancing.

What About My Current Sunday School Class That is Still Meeting at the Church?

You may continue to meet as long as you are wearing a mask and social distancing.

What About All Other Church Events?

All other church events will be postponed or virtual until further notice.  You can stay up to date on our web site at www.fairviewangola.com
