People of Hope

We are people of hope, not fear. Paul reminds us, “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again…”! Church, we have an amazing opportunity before us. We have an opportunity to offer hope in the midst of fear, chaos, and panic. We have an opportunity to live out our faith in the midst of the world’s questions.

The Coronavirus has been the national headline for the last few weeks. Suggestions and information seem to be changing on a daily basis. As a church, we will do our best to care for you and keep you informed of changes to our ministries and events as they occur. Our Governor, Eric Holcomb, released a series of steps to protect Hoosiers from COVID-19 yesterday afternoon. His first step was…

“Non-essential gatherings must be limited to no more than 10 people. This includes any event or gathering of people who are in one room or a single space at the same time, such as cafeterias, churches, stadiums, meeting and conference rooms, auditoriums and the like. This guidance applies to professional, social, community and similar other gatherings.”

Weekend Worship
We will adhere to our governor’s recommendation and WILL NOT be meeting at 525 E 200 N Angola IN 46703 on Sunday mornings until further notice. But I have some good news. Fairview Missionary Church never existed just in the building. The church exists in the people of God. We are the church. We are his people. We will continue to be the church regardless of what happens. This is not a time for panic, but a time for hope. It is a time to be smart and take the necessary precautions, and to trust in God. Again, Paul reminds us, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. In lieu of Sunday morning services, we will stream our worship service and messages online. We highly encourage you to worship with us at 9:00 am and 10:30 am Sunday mornings. You can find the link here on our website and our Facebook page later today.

Home Small Groups
If you are healthy, and comfortable with the idea, we encourage you to stay connected with your small group. We have been advised against large gatherings, but God didn’t intend us to live in isolation. Use precaution, but stay connected in ways you and your group are comfortable with.

In God’s Love,
